NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A man asking for directions in a pick-up truck on Canal Street tried to abduct a 33-year-old woman demanding oral sex, but she managed to get away from him, New Smyrna Beach police said.
Here is a synopsis of the of the 5:17 p.m. incident in the 400 block of Canal Street as written by Police Sgt. Christopher Roos: "The victim was walking on Canal Street when a white male driving a tan or beige full size pick-up approached her. The male asked for directions and when the victim began to approach the vehicle he reached across and opened the passenger side door. When the victim leaned in to provide the male with information, he grabbed her arm, stated he wanted oral sex and tried to pull her into the vehicle. The victim was able to get away and called for assistance. The suspect had fled the scene prior to the arrival of the police."
The attacker, an unknown white male, is described as approximately 5 feet 10 with a medium build, about 45 to 50 years of age, with a beard. He had on glasses and was wearing a camouflage baseball cap. He was driving a tan or beige full size, standard cab pick-up.
