A couple of months into summer and all signs prove it’s exactly that. The heat shows no signs of cooling down; in fact it is breaking records! Students out of school are making the best of it and I am no exception.
It’s great to be able to see friends you may not have had a chance to see in school. I’ve made just-for-fun commercials with my friend, Sarah, laughed until we cried with Haley, and recently visited with my friend, Jessica.
We saw Toy Story 3, window shopped, and splashed at the beach. I’m still keeping active with tennis although the sun and humidity are apparently not on my team. Like many students entering high school next year, I will be taking at least one class on Florida Virtual School for about 18 weeks. It is helpful that these classes are offered online to get ahead in high school.
So now for a few hundred students, our lives are beginning to change. The transition from a Stingray to a Cuda may be difficult but one person will make it a little better. The NSBMS principle, Mr. Jim Tager, will indeed be going to the high school as principal. The class of 2014 will be the first class to have him as our principal for seven years and we couldn’t be happier!
With high school and all of the responsibilities that come with it, we sure are in for a challenge. We can easily see all who made it before us, but each one of us will endure an all new, exciting, thrilling experience for the next four years of our lives. We only have one chance at high school and all of us have the potential to do great with that time and the rest of our lives.
