Sera and I want to wish all of you a merry Christmas with best wishes for a prosperous and happy new year. We are truly blessed to call New Smyrna Beach home, not only for its beautiful beach and Intracoastal Waterway and sunshine, but the warmth of its people.
The same can be said for all of the cities across Volusia County, Central Florida and the entire state, for that matter. We live in the greatest nation on earth and part of a global community where resources are shrinking and many less fortunate than us suffering and thankful just to be alive. There is great potential here at home, across the state, the nation and the world as we celebrate the Christian holiday with a new year beckoning. From a personal point of view, Sera and I and my business partner, Peter Mallory, are excited about the continued growth of NSB News LLC in 2011. We will be far more aggressive in our approach to the news as well as the advertising and marketing of this awesome website, we started from scratch in April 2008.
Everyone knows we have arrived as the true daily online newspaper for greater New Smyrna Beach and we'll prove to be the upstart medium countywide as residents and merchants seek out alternative news that is substantive and advertisers looking for a forum that is truly affordable and dependable. Make no mistake about it. We will work very hard to emerge as a countywide media player in 2011
Today, though, is a day for giving thanks and appreciating what we have and who we are with. Sera and I and my son are appreciative this Christmas for our beautiful home in New Smyrna Beach and our ability to put out the news and enjoy what life has affords us. On this Christmas Day, Sera and I want to thank all of our community bloggers in no particular order: Capt. Budd Neviaser, Darlene Vann, Gerry Tatham, Matthew Wall, Shane Porter, Angel Marie, Cheyenne Drews, Palmer Wilson, Marilee Walters, Kerry-Anne Purkiss, Jeanette DiCara, Stan Escudero, Bob Tolley, Joe Glasse, Ellen Darden and newcomers Dorothy Hukill, Margie Patchett and Shira Beth Wild. I also want to thank contributing writer/reporter Dale Smith and our talented webmaster, Jed Brown. Thank you as well to our advertisers and most of all, to all of you, who follow us on this 2 for 1 format of NSBNEWS.net and VolusiaNews.net God bless.
