Kissimmee cops: Argument escalated into gunfire that left a 24-year-old man dead outside a restaurant Sunday night

KISSIMMEE, Fla. -- Just what led to a double shooting outside the El Cibuco Restaurant, that left a 24-year-old man dead and a 30-year-old woman injured remains a mystery, Kissimmee cops said.

Here is a synopsis of what was released by Kissimmee police: The shooting happened around 9:40 p.m. Sunday outside the restaurant in the 2200 block of Fortune Road.

When officers arrived, they found a man dead and a woman with a non-life-threatening injury to her hand as a result of an apparent altercation between the gunman and the deceased identified as Juan Carlos Quiles.

The woman, Marianne Crespo Rodriguez of Orlando, was treated and released from a local hospital.

Police have not released information on a possible motive possible motive, but the preliminary investigation into the homicide indicates there was an altercation between the gunman and possibly others with him and Quiles, which escalated into gunfire.

One gunshot was fired which struck and killed Quiles and the gunman remains at large.
