SANFORD, Fla. -- Sanford Police Investigators have arrested Silverio Edinson Paez Lezama on charges of possession of child pornography, including some enhanced charges.
Here is a synopsis of what occurred as described in an email alart by Sanford Police PIO Michael Hernandez to Headline Surfer: On Dec. 17, 2024, the Sanford Police Department’s Internet Crimes Against Children Investigator received a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Cyber Tipline Report, regarding child pornography being uploaded to an online messenger service called "Media Lab / Kik Messenger."
During the police investigation, it was determined that the location of the upload was a residence at 8105 Stonebrook Drive in Sanford, which Paez Lezama occupied.
On June 6, 2025, Sanford Police Investigators and members of the Florida Department of Law Enforcement's Cybercrimes Task Force executed a search warrant at 8105 Stonebrook Drive. A subsequent forensic analysis of Paez Lezama’s cell phone found approximately 900 images related to child pornography. This investigation confirmed that the images were images of child pornography, which Paez Lezama obtained from the internet.
As a result of the investigation, Sanford Police Investigators issued a warrant for Paez Lezama’s arrest on the following charges:
Obscene Material-Possess Control View Depiction Child Pornography (44 Counts);
Obscene Material-Possess ten or more Child Porn Image F3 Offense.
The second offense listed signifies that at least 10 images of child pornography located on Paez Lezama’s phone were egregious enough to meet Florida State Statute requirements for prosecution at the state level.
On July 15, 2025, Paez Lezama was arrested by Sanford cops and booked on the charges listed above at the John E. Polk Correctional Facility, where he remains behind bars.
