PORT ORANGE, Fla. -- The woman shot by cops outside the Port Orange police headquarters  has died.

Linda Croteau, a 71-year-old widow who walked into the police lobby Thursday where a shot was fired from the gun she was holding, walked outside, and was shot by three cops who ordered her to drop the gun.

There are conflicting reports as to what led to the use of deadly force. The police chief has said it was an active shooter situation.

Headline Surfer sources indicate she wanted to do the right thing and turn in her deceased husband's gun and somehow it fired. She walked outside and she ended up dead.

Headline Surfer has obtained raw video of the initial lobby gun discharge and is working on an updated story on this Friday afternoon.
