A Deltona woman was shot to death early Monday at her home in the 3200 block of Parma Drive in Deltona by her ex-husband, who fled, crashed his vehicle in Palm Coast, and fatally shot himself in the head as law enforcement was closing in on him.

DELAND, Fla. On Friday evening, deputies arrested Giovanni Bubenik, 29, on a charge of attempted first-degree murder after having struck the victim in the back of the head and digging a grave for him in the woods, a Volusia sheriff's spokesman said.
