NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- For the past five years, patrons attending the six annual alcohol-fueled street festivals sponsored by the Merchants of Flagler Avenue Hospitality Group and paid for with tax dollars have been able to drink in public without impunity from the cops. But all that changed Halloween night.

Volusia County Sheriff's investigators have yet to recover the bodies of 28-year-old Yessenia Suarez and her two children, 8-year-old Michael Otto and 9-year-old Thalia Otto, while the suspected killer, Luis Toledo, the woman's husband, remains jailed without bail on a domestic violence charge the before she and the kids disappeared.

DELTONA -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is seeking the public's help in locating a mother and her two children who are considered missing and endangered under suspicious circumstances stemming from a domestic violence situation in Lake Mary involving her husband who has since been apprehended and jailed in Daytona Beach.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- An off-duty deputy was arrested Saturday night on a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs after at least one motorist called 9-1-1 to report she was "all over the road" and even driving in the oncoming traffic lane. When she was pulled over, fellow deputies saw that her 7-year-old daughter was in the front passenger seat.

KISSIMMEE -- A Kissimmee man has been arrested in connection with Monday's armed robbery of the Metro PCS store, 715 East Vine St.

Kissimmee cops responded to the Metro PCS store at 1:45 p.m. in response to a 9-1-1 call of an armed robbery. Upon arrival, Officers learned that a Hispanic man walked inside, approached the clerk with his hand in his pocket said, “Give me the money.”

DAYTONA BEACH -- The man shot outside Papi's Bottle Club early Saturday has died and the case is now being investigated as a murder, a Volusia County Sheriff's official said.

DAYTONA BEACH -- The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is investigating a shooting early this morning in the parking lot of a bottle club near Daytona Beach that left a man critically injured, an agency spokesman said.

"The shooting occurred at about 4:58 a.m., just as a crowd was gathering outside of Papi's Bottle Club on North Nova Road," Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson told Headline Surfer. "Two deputies were close enough to the scene to hear a fight breaking out in the parking lot. As the deputies drove to the scene, they heard a gunshot ring out and then saw the crowd scatter."

KISSIMMEE -- A man who led a cashier to believe he had a gun when he robbed the Denny's restaurant on West Vine Street at 3 a.m. Tuesday, has a unique feature that could make it easier for good samaritans to spot him, say Kissimmee cops: He has a tear drop tattoo under his right eye that is not filled in.

Stacie Miller, a Kissimmee police spokeswoman, said the robber implied he was armed, even though "no gun was displayed," but the tattoo under his right eye is as clear as day. is clear as day.

DAYTONA BEACH -- Violent crime continues unabated in Daytona Beach with a report of city cops forced to open fire on a man who had a knife to a woman's throat and plunging it into her chest inside a residence in the 800 block of Magnolia Avenue, according to WESH TV.

The shooting happened after two officers responded to a domestic dispute call at 2:45 a.m. during which cops were forced to break down the door when nobody answered, Police Chief Michael Chitwood told the Orlando TV station.

DELTONA -- The 7-Eleven store on DeBary Avenue was robbed late Sunday night by a man with a knife. No one was injured during the incident, which is under investigation by the Volusia County Sheriff’s Office.

The clerk told deputies that he was in the back room washing dishes and when he turned around and saw a man with two shirts covering his face standing behind him and pointing a large kitchen knife pointed at him.

"The robber ordered the clerk to open the cash register," Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson told Headline Surfer, and when the clerk complied, "the suspect grabbed money from the register and then ran out the door and headed southbound."
