Edgewater police chief relieved accused killer who discarded victims' bodies here captured

EDGEWATER -- Police Chief Dave Arcieri remembers the bodies like it was yesterday -- two stabbed men with slashed throats found in a remote area of the edge of the city near Interstate 95. It was obvious they were killed elsewhere and discarded here.

Buzzards flying overhead drew the attention of passersby on Opossum Road and the grisly find, which led to Edgewater police response.

DELTONA -- Nicholas Leach of Lake Mary drove to Deltona to collect on a drug debt, but after he allegedly stabbed the victim several times earlier today, he was arrested and transported to jail, Volusia County authorities said.

Sheriff's deputies were called out early Saturday morning to investigate the stabbing of a Deltona man who said he was attacked by a stranger trying to force his way into the victim's home, agency spokesman Gary Davidson said, adding it took some doing, but Sheriff's investigators uncovered the real story.

Deltona man wanted in stabbings of parents captured

DELTONA -- Thomas Fey, the 28-year-old Deltona man wanted on a warrant accusing him of stabbing his parents over the weekend, was apprehended tonight in Hernando County after a chase through four counties, A Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman confirmed.

Orange, Lake, Sumter and Hernando Counties by deputies after he reports earlier in the day had him seen in several Central Florida communities.

"The suspect was captured this evening and has been taken into custody in Hernando County," Gary Davidson, spokesman for Volusia County Sheriff Ben Johnson, told NSBNews.net.

"Thomas Fey's vehicle was first spotted in Orange County by an Oakland Police Officer. Fey sped from the scene, west into Lake County, where Lake County Sheriff's deputies joined in the pursuit.

DELTONA -- Volusia County Sheriff's deputies are continuing to search for 28-year-old Thomas Fey, whom they have named as a suspect in the 5 p.m. Sunday stabbings of his parents in the Deltona home they all shared at 3215 Hyder Ave.

The father, Thomas Fey, 60, and the mother, Theresa Fey, 54, were listed early this morning in stable condition at Halifax Medical Center in Daytona Beach, where each was admitted for multiple stab wounds. Sheriff's officials did not go into greater detail on the stab wounds except to say the father underwent emergency surgery.

ORMOND BEACH -- Volusia County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 63-year-old woman on Friday with child neglect after she left a 2-year-old girl alone in her car while she went shopping for groceries. And witnesses told deputies this wasn't the first time.
