DELAND -- A 16-year-old boy wanted for attempted felony murder and armed home invasion in Orange City, was arrested Monday night at a home on Boston Court in the DeLand area after Volusia County Sheriff's deputies received an anonymous tip about his location, an agency spokesman said.

Levon Desaussure was transported to the Volusia Regional Juvenile Detention Center in Daytona Beach without incident.Sheriff's investigators have already charged 21-year-old Kyle Bell of Orange City with attempted felony murder and home invasion robbery.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The city's newest registered sex offender is Terrence Little Jr, who is living at 331 Sheldon Street, New Smyrna Beach police announced today.

Little, 37, was convicted June 2, 1998, of sexual battery of a minor over the age of 12 who was incapacitated. Because Little is classified as a sexual predator and found a home in New Smyrna Beach, the New Smyrna Beach Police Department is responsible for make sure he is registered, which was done Monday. Little is the 42nd convict designated as a sexual predator living in Volusia County. Of the 42, 20 live in Southeast Volusia -- 15 in New Smyrna Beach and five in Edgewater.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- And just like that, the so-called swine flu pandemic just went away. Or at least that's how it seems.

DEBARY -- A man pulled into his driveway in DeBary Wednesday evening after having just cashed a check when suddenly he was confronted by a woman pointing a gun at him and demanding his money.

When the 50-year-old man didn't respond fast enough, the woman cocked the gun, but at that moment something didn't seem right to the would-be victim, said Volusia County Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Haught. The gun had an oddly plastic sound. That prompted the man to fight back. When she tried dashing across the street to escape, he gave chase and tackled her to the ground.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Still reeling from record flood waters last month, New Smyrna Beach and much of the region soaked up another 3 inches of rain earlier today, with drizzling into the night, according to the National Weather Service.

DELAND -- Morgan Gilreath Jr., Volusia County’s property appraiser, has provided updated damage assessments from May’s floods, indicating that 1,890 properties were damaged with a total value of $68,985,054, said Shelley Szafraniec, a county spokeswoman.
