NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 42-year-old man was piostol-whipped for $30 late Chrisdtmas Eve and had to have his head stapled at Bert Fish Medical Center to closde his wound, police said. His alleged attacker, Richard Paul Walker, 35, was arrested a short time later, New Smyrna Beach police said.

The 11 p.m. attack happened in the 500 block of Sinnka St., where Marty Boyd was robbed of $30 in cash after he was repeatedly struck with a handgun about his head, according to a report filed by police Sgt. Valerie Joyce. He was transported by EVAC to Bert Fish Medical Center where he required several staples to his head to close his bloody wound.
