Holly Hill residents 'getting their way from here to there' with new bridge
FDOT: Ribbon cutting planned for Friday
HOLLY HILL, Fla. -- Later this week, residents and others will be reminded that they "can get there from here" when the newly-built Daytona Avenue Bridge opens with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
It takes place at the Daytona Avenue Bridge, in the 1000 block of Daytona Avenue, in the City of Holly Hill. The event starts at 5 p.m., Friday,
The Daytona Avenue Bridge serves as an important link near Holly Hill City Hall. It provides direct, north-south access.
But since Feb. 23, 2011, first responders and citizens had to travel a longer, less direct route, after it was discovered the local bridge was unlikely to continue safely handling day-to-day traffic anymore.
