DAYTONA BEACH -- Speed Weeks will bring heavy traffic to Volusia County in February and Votran riders
should expect numerous delays, interruptions and route deviations, said Michelle Coats, Volusia County spokeswoman.

Schedule delays will begin Thursday and continue through the Daytona 500 on Sunday.

Detours are subject to change without notice and buses will be rerouted to secondary roads when traffic becomes congested.

DELTONA -- A lrobber held up the Wachovia Bank on Deltona Boulevard in Deltona Monday morning, the Volusia County Sheriff's Office reported.

No one was injured in the robbery, which occurred shortly after 11 a.m.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- In the midst of dinner-time customers, a white man man with a scruffy beard armed with a knife hopped over the counter at the McDonald's restaurant on State Road 44 and grabbed a wad of cash from a register before running outside and taking off in a grey or silver vehicle, New Smyrna Beach police said.
