DAYTONA BEACH -- Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 14 percent in November compared with the same month last year, according to VolusiaCounty officials.

During November 37,402 incoming and outgoing passengers traveled through Daytona Beach International Airport. This compares with 32,853 travelers recorded in November last year.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- The Utilities Commission has introduced new electric rebates for fiscal 2011, marking the fourth consecutive year the utility has offered electric rebates.

DAYTONA BEACH -- Passenger traffic at Daytona Beach International Airport increased 46 percent in September, compared with September 2009.

Airport officials attributed September’s traffic surge to competitive fares and increased capacity being offered by the airport’s two principal air carriers -- Delta Air Lines and U.S Airways.

Spirits were lifted by the taste of fine wines during Saturday's Wine Tasting event on Flagler Avenue, including Clancy's Cantina where Kathleen Hughes, at left, was having a good time. The wine tasting was just as popular at the That's Amore restaurant on nearby Pine Street. At these eateries and several other participating establishments, patrons  bought wine glasses at nominal prices and various ticket amounts for refills.

EDGEWATER -- The Southeast Volusia Chamber on Sept. 21 will hold its newest business development seminar: "Beyond Winning-Success on Your Terms"

The 8:30-10:30 a.m. seminar is presented by Ned Harper, director of the Small Business Development Center of Daytona State College. It will be held in the Edgewater City Commission chambers of City Hall, 102 N. Rivereside Drive.

EDGEWATER -- The Southeast Volusia Chamber of Commerce continues its "Lunch and Learn Series: Doing Business in Southeast Volusia" with a presentation Wednesday by Rick Fraser of the Center for Business Excellence.

The CBE is designed to be the premier organization for employment and training solutions to the businesses and workforce of Volusia and Flagler Counties.

DELTONA -- The Winn-Dixie at 1200 Deltona Blvd. is among 30 stores in the Southeast that are closing as part of a restructuring, the Jacksonville-based grocery giant announced Thursday.

The Winn-Dixie on State Road 44 in New Smyrna Beach and the store on U.S. 1 in Edgewater are not affected by the closings, which are expected to be completed by Sept. 22, the company said in a press release.
