Peter Mallory was a longtime resident of New Smyrna Beach. He earned master's and bachelor's degrees in engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Mass. He served on the board of trustees at Daytona State College and was a commissioner with the New Smyrna Beach Utilities Commission. Mallory's late wife, Jacqueline Mallory, was active in civic causes. Peter and Henry Frederick co-founded NSBNEWS.net, which launched April 7, 2008, as Florida's first 24/7 Internet newspaper. Peter served as co-publisher and wrote his weekly blog, "The Right Side." Peter retired in March 2012, and turned his shared of the company over to Henry, with the intention of continuing his blog. But his health began to fail and he died in June. Henry converted NSBNews.net into the trademarked Headline Surfer, accessed via HeadlineSurfer.com.
