Every day now we awake to new more dire predictions of a massive nuclear meltdown in Japan in as many as four reactors from the recent earthquake and Tsunami, yet another revolution in the Middle East with a sadistic insane leader ordering his troops to shoot his own people and the U. N. Security Council resolution instituting a no-fly zone over Libya. That resolution also authorizes “all necessary means” to enforce that resolution. What does that mean?

The whale shark, Rhincodon typus, is a slow-moving filter feeding shark and the largest of the living fish species. The largest confirmed shark is 41 feet long and the heaviest weighs more than 79,000 pounds. However, there are unconfirmed reports of whale sharks that are even larger.

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES, Fla. -- In my last Guidepost, I very strongly urged the GOP to demand draconian spending cuts as the best means of saving our nation from bankruptcy and the world from a financial crash which could dwarf that of 2008, or even 1929.

I try not to watch the news but every now and then it is on while I am doing something else so I hear it. Tonight was one of those times and let me just tell you a couple of things I heard. These should help explain to you why I don’t like to watch.

You have just shot a nice eight pointer. As you drag him out of the woods and get ready to put him in the truck, a plain dressed (or uniformed) individual approaches you, shows their identification and asks you for your hunting license, your tags (if applicable) and your driver’s license.

Every picture tells a story and the clouds Wednesday night here lived up to their billing with a fierce storm that had everyone dodging puddles, hoping their windshield wipers were working and when they got home safety that their power would be on.

Did you know that each city in our county and some individual cites pay upwards of $90 in your taxes per feral cat to put them to sleep? We pay to kill cats...and dogs! That does not include police and animal control time and work. And not just the feral ones. The feral ones just get the needle sooner.
