Services set for NSB resident Daniel Raimondo, who perished in Tuesday's traffic accident near the North Causeway Bridge

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A Celebration of Life and visitation for 60-year-old Daniel N. Raimondo, who died tragically Tuesday when he was hit by a motorist on his bicycle, will be 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Baldwin Brothers Heritage Chapel, 1 North Causeway.

U.S. needs to move faster to transport orphaned Haitian children to new families in America

EDGEWATER, Fla. -- If I had money or influence with the U. S. government the very next cargo plane leaving Haiti would carry every orphan I could find to a place of safety where they would have food, water and medicine and not be sleeping outside on mattresses and blankets on the ground.

NSB bicyclist killed crossing into path of motorist on beachside

NSBNEWS.net video by Sera Frederick. A 60-year-old bicyclist died aboard the Sheriff's One helicopter en route to Halifax Medical Center after he was struck by a motorist on Peninsula Avenue after 2 p.m. Tuesday, police said.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 60-year-old bicyclist lost his life after pedaling into the path of an oncoming car on Peninsula Drive, just south of the intersection with Flagler Avenue just after 2:08 p.m. Tuesday, New Smyrna Beach police said.

Several hundred NSB residents march in celebration of MLK Day

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Larry Chisolm was among the first generation of African Americans to attend the newly integrated Faulkner Street Elementary School in the early 1970s. Today while thousands of New Smyrna Beach residents enjoyed the extended holiday weekend, he and several hundred others marched in celebration of Martin Luther King Day.
