Mullinax Ford teams up with New Smyrna Beach High School for test drive fundraiser on Saturday

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- Ford Motor Company and Mullinax Ford are offering New Smyrna Beach High School the opportunity to raise $8,000 with their annual test drive program on Saturday. Members of the community can earn money for NSBHS by simply test-driving a new Ford at the school from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Barringer was stopped 11:40 p.m. Sunday at South Atlantic and 12th avenues and given a warning for unlawful speed. He was clocked at 48 in a 40 mph zone.

The bill would allow the speedway concessions of up to $2 million annually for 30 years in exchange for a $250 million-plus modernization of the speedway facilities.  The DIS announcement came on the heels of the 2013 Daytona 500 as shown in this Headline Surfer photo.

DAYTONA BEACH -- State Rep. David Santiago is optimistic his proposed legislation for $60 million in tax incentives for Daytona International will be approved by his colleagues to pave the way for a massive modernization project there. Santiago talked about his bill in Headline Surfer's online newsmaker show, "The Sunday Conversation."

DAYTONA BEACH -- Gloves and a scarf may be the preferred accessories with today's start of Bike Week because of the chilly weather over the next few days.

Today's high in Daytona Beach is expected to peak at 67 degrees with winds of 5 to 15 mph and gusts of up to 20 mph.

Tonight will see the temperature dropping to 48 degrees. Saturday looks a little better with a high of 70 and overnight temperature of 54 with diminishing winds of 5 to 10 mph.
