Ponce Inlet gearing up for the winter holiday season with festive family activities in December

PONCE INLET, Fla. -- 'Tis the season for festive winter holiday activities for town residents sponsored by the waterfront municipality.

Here is a synopsis of the upcoming events as described in an email media alert to Headline Surfer by Jackie French, cultural services manager for the town of Ponce Inlet:

Town Tree Lighting and Children’s Christmas Party: 6 p.m. Friday, Dec. 3, Timothy Pollard Memorial Park; 4680 S. Peninsula Drive. Parking is free at the Ponce Inlet Fire Station, 4680 S. Peninsula Drive, and at the Ponce Inlet Community Center, 4670 S. Peninsula Drive.

Art at the Museum-Poinsettia: Acrylic Canvas Painting Class for ages 12 and up, 10 a.m to noon Wednesday, Dec. 8. No experience is necessary; the instructor will guide you step by step, Space is limited to 12 people. Pre-payment is required at Town Hall by Dec. 3.

Programs in the Parks: Birdwatch led by David Hartgrove of the Halifax River Audubon Society, 10 a.m., Timucuan Oaks, 4550 South Peninsula Drive. The event is free, but an RSVP is required by Dec. 7.

A Very Merry Old Fashion Christmas: 10 a.m. o 12:00 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 11: Come play old fashion games, make Christmas crafts, and tour the Ponce Inlet Historical Museum, 143 Beach St.

Kids Day at the Park: Come create-n-paint an adorable clay holly bowl and learn about the invasive aspects of the holly tree, 10 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Ponce Preserve, 4401 South Peninsula Drive. The event is free, but an RSVP is required by Dec. 16.
