DELAND, Fla. -- Retired lawman Jim Gillum is going to provide analysis on crime and politics for Headline Surfer's investigative reporting project - "Volusia County's Venality: A Decade of Abuse."

Gillum, former elected sheriff in Pasco County, who has called DeLand home for the past 10 years, will offer expert analysis on crime and politics over the latter six years of certain politicians and others in this journalism project over the next several months.

Among Gillum's initial topics will be the actions of County Chair Jeff Brower since taking office in 2021 and some of his advisors and associates.
