ORLANDO -- Dwight Howard has asked the Orlando Magic to trade him, according to the Orlando Sentinel's online edition which broke the story earlier today.
ORLANDO -- A 41-year-old Orlando man was killed overnight when his motorcycle was rear-ended by an SUV on Colonial Drive, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
Here is a synopsis of what happened as described by FHP spokesman Sgt. Kim Montes: The victim was thrown from his 2009 Suzuki and pronounced dead at the scene of the 12:03 a.m. Sunday accident in the center westbound lane of State Road 50 and near Remington Road. His name was not released pending notification of his family. He was wearing a helmet.
Montes said the biker was stopped at a red light with the SUV behind it. When the light turned green, the driver of the 2012 Honda sport utility vehicle, 18-year-old Shawn Yerich of Clermont, apparently did not notice that the biker had not yet accelerated and slammed into the bike, ejecting the rider, the FHP spokeswoman said.
Neither Yurich nor his passenger, Christina Carratini, 18 of Montverde, were injured. Both were wearing their seat belts. The accident remains under investigation with possible charges pending, Montes said.
EDGEWATER -- The sea surface temperature at Ponce Inlet is in the high 60s and low 70s. In the surf and off the piers, whiting are plentiful as are bluefish. Pompano seem to be present one day and then gone the next. A lot of the pompano were feeding on periwinkles, which are small, edible marine snails having thick, cone-shaped, whorled shells.
In Ponce Inlet, founder continue to please anglers as have snook. Remember that snook season will be closed from Dec. 15 to Jan. 31.

Sheriff's deputies were called out early Saturday morning to investigate the stabbing of a Deltona man who said he was attacked by a stranger trying to force his way into the victim's home, agency spokesman Gary Davidson said, adding it took some doing, but Sheriff's investigators uncovered the real story.
TITUSVILLE -- Authorities are looking for 41-year-old Leoneil Sloley of Titusville, in connection with a drug operation smashed in New Smyrna Beach.
A fugitive warrant was issued Friday for Sloley, charging him with conspiracy to traffic in cocaine 200 grams or more, unlawful use of two-way communications device, and sale of cocaine.
Sloley is among five fugitives wanted in connection with the drug operation. Three of the others are from New Smyrna Beach and the fourth is from Daytona Beach.
