Daytona Beach Shores police respond with SWAT team to suicide

DAYTONA BEACH SHORES -- A SWAT team was called in several hours after Daytona Beach Shores Department of Public Safety officers received a call 2 p.m. Saturday of a suicidal man in his residence at 3716 S. Atlantic Ave. The man was later found dead inside his home, police said.

It's the crime-fighting Crime Stoppers program, and officials investigating a pipe bomb explosion early Sunday morning near DeLand are hoping that someone with information about the incident will call the tip line and claim a reward.

DELTONA -- A precautionary boil-water notice is in effect for all homes on Stone Island in Southwest Volusia County.

Utilities crews shut off water at 11:30 a.m. Thursday to make repairs on a six-inch water main break. Residents are advised to bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute before using it for drinking, cooking or ice-making.
