ORANGE CITY, Fla. -- A man is dead in Orange City after he pointed a gun at law enforcement officers, prompting several officers to open fire to neutralize the threat. The shooting occurred early Tuesday morning after Volusia County Sheriff’s deputies and Orange City police officers responded to reports of a man stopped in the middle of Volusia Avenue and pointing a gun at passing motorists.

DELAND, Fla. -- The DeLand Police Department is investigating an apparent shooting at what was described as a "large party" in a house in the 800 block of Valleydale Avenue where one person was pronounced dead on scene when DeLand cops arrived shortly after 7:30 p.m. Saturday and a second person died after multiple transports to the hospital overnight, a city spokesman said.

And he's certainly not talking now -- at least not to this media outlet, which is outlining the rape allegations while recognizing the presumption of innocence is afforded Kimmons unless or until tried and convicted in a court of law.
