ORLANDO, Fla. -- Rain is in the forecast until at least Wednesday here in East Central Florida, from Orlando and the Attractions and along the Interstate 4 corridor to the World's Most Famous Beach in Daytona and other beaches along I-95.

LAKE Mary, Fla. -- My Mom, of Portuguese descent, was born at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Connecticut, and raised in the nearby village of Attawaugan in Killingly.

She was the middle of three sisters; her father died at age 40 when she was 12.

Ukraine: Zelenskyy willing to meet Putin in Turkey 

DW News / Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he'll be waiting in Turkey to conduct peace talks with Vladimir Putin. This comes after the Russian president proposed direct negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul this Thursday. Zelenskyy has called on Russia to implement a full ceasefire on Monday before any negotiations begin. He says Ukraine is still waiting for a response from Moscow to its truce proposal.

US and China reach agreement to cut tariffs

BBC News / The US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent described the discussions as "productive and constructive," while China's Vice Premier He Lifeng said the talks were "in-depth" and "candid." The talks were the first face-to-face meetings between the two countries since US President Donald Trump imposed a 145% tariff on Chinese imports, with Beijing responding with a 125% levy on some US goods. The massive tariffs caused turmoil in the financial markets and sparked fears of a global recession.

'Putin doesn't want a ceasefire:' Russia does not recognize Ukraine as sovereign, independent state
