LAKE Mary, Fla. -- My Mom, of Portuguese descent, was born at Day Kimball Hospital in Putnam, Connecticut, and raised in the nearby village of Attawaugan in Killingly.

She was the middle of three sisters; her father died at age 40 when she was 12.

Ukraine: Zelenskyy willing to meet Putin in Turkey 

DW News / Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy says he'll be waiting in Turkey to conduct peace talks with Vladimir Putin. This comes after the Russian president proposed direct negotiations with Ukraine in Istanbul this Thursday. Zelenskyy has called on Russia to implement a full ceasefire on Monday before any negotiations begin. He says Ukraine is still waiting for a response from Moscow to its truce proposal.
