DAYTONA BEACH SHORES -- Mitt Romney carried Arizona and claimed its 29 delegates in what was barely a contest. He took Michigan as well.
Those delegates guarantee that Romney will leave Tuesday's primaries with the majority of the delegates awarded.
DAYTONA BEACH -- Matt Kenseth staved off a late charge from Dale Earnhardt Jr. off turn 4 of the final lap to win his second Daytona 500 early this morning in a crash-marred race that included Juan Pablo Montoya crashing into a jet dryer.
DAYTONA BEACH -- Matt Kenseth took the checkered flag to win a crash-marred Daytona 500 with Dale Earnhardt Jr. making a last second move to take second.
Kenseth can thank teammate Greg Biffle who stayed behind him when Earnahardt made his move coming off of turn 4.
DAYTONA BEACH -- Seven cars caught up in another crash setting up for a green white checkered. Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle lead 22 cars on the lead lap. Dale Earnhardt is in third.
Yet another crash on lap 187 and the race is under yellow with 9 laps to go. Matt Kenseth remains out front.
There were 18 laps to go with Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle out front under the yellow and Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick right behind them.
A late caution had the race slowed with 21 laps to go with Marcos Ambrose and Casey Mears sliding offf the track and into the grass.
Matt Kenseth was in front with 25 to go followed by Greg Biffle and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in third.
DAYTONA BEACH -- The Daytona 500 race has been red-flagged at lap 160 the result of Juan Pablo Montoya crashing his car into a jet dryer vehicle during a caution lap and resuilting in a fire.
Here in the early stages of the Daytona 500 is the first of two wrecks -- the earlier one on lap 2 taking out Jimmy Johnson and David Ragan. Though she was in the middle of the melee, Danica Patrick survived the wreckage.
