Matt Kenseth wins crash-marred Daytona 500; Dale Earnhardt Jr. takes second in bizarre race

DAYTONA BEACH -- Matt Kenseth staved off a late charge from Dale Earnhardt Jr. off turn 4 of the final lap to win his second Daytona 500 early this morning in a crash-marred race that included Juan Pablo Montoya crashing into a jet dryer.

DAYTONA BEACH -- Seven cars caught up in another crash setting up for a green white checkered. Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle lead 22 cars on the lead lap. Dale Earnhardt is in third.

Yet another crash on lap 187 and the race is under yellow with 9 laps to go. Matt Kenseth remains out front.

There were 18 laps to go with Matt Kenseth and Greg Biffle out front under the yellow and Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Kevin Harvick right behind them.

A late caution had the race slowed with 21 laps to go with Marcos Ambrose and Casey Mears sliding offf the track and into the grass.

Matt Kenseth was in front with 25 to go followed by Greg Biffle and Dale Earnhardt Jr. in third.

SPARTANBURG, SC – Chris Perez scored a game-high 23 for the Stetson Hatters of DeLand, but it wasn't enough to overcome USC Upstate with four players in double digits and an abrupt end to the basketball season.
