OAK HILL – Oak Hill’s personnel board has recommended terminating police officer Mike Ihnken from the city’s police force following a hearing Thursday.

DAYTONA BEACH – With the clock ticking on the life span of the Orange Avenue draw bridge in Daytona Beach, the Volusia County Council earlier today unanimously approved plans to replace it with a  high-rise fixed bridge, replacing the aging structure that’s been servicing traffic since 1954.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A 75-year-old woman who saw two troopers on the northbound shoulder of I-95 smashed her vehicle into theirs and then the vehicle they had pulled over after she herself pulled over Wednesday with the intention of asking them a question, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.
