DELAND -- A pair of Stetson baseball players were named to the 2013 Louisville Slugger Freshman All-America team, which is selected annually by Collegiate Baseball newspaper.
DAYTONA BEACH – Nine-time GRAMMY winner Sheryl Crow, whose long list of hits include “All I Wanna Do,” “Soak Up The Sun” and her latest single “Easy,” will perform a hour-long pre-race concert prior to the 55th annual Coke Zero 400 Powered By Coca-Cola NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race on Saturday, July 6 at Daytona International Speedway.
Former No. 1 overa;ll draft pick Dwight Howard left the Orlando Magic in a trade two seasons ago. Now he and the LA Lakers are headed for the playoffs, albeit it, without Kobe Bryant with his achilles heel injury. The Magic season is mercifully over with a mere 20 wins.

DAYTONA BEACH -- All-Pro NFL linebacker Ray Lewis will wave the green flag as honorary starter of today's Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Last year's starter was WWE superstar John Cena.

DAYTONA BEACH -- John Wes Townley started on the pole and finished in Gatorade Victory Lane Saturday capturing the 50th annual Lucas Oil 200 presented by MAVTV American Real at Daytona International Speedway.
