DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Despite the press release marketing of Daytona Beach Police Chief Michael Chitwood in the daily print newspaper, Daytona Beach has the distinction of being the most dangerous city in Florida and the 34th most dangerous in the United States.

"Volusia County Sheriff's deputies located 19-year-old Scott Barkley at his Deltona home (Tuesday) morning and arrested him without incident," Sheriff's spokesman Brandon Haught said.

NEW SMYRNA BEACH -- A man and four dogs were killed this morning in a fully-engulfed fire of his single-family mobile home outside the New Smyrna Beach city limits.
The Volusia County Sheriff's Office is conducting a death investigation. The resident, whose name and age have not been relased while authorities contact relatives, was found inside the mobile home at 2056 Porto Blvd.
An autopsy will be conducted by the Volusia County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the official cause of death.
